  Q. Do you only offer courses in Insurance Studies?  
 
A. Our core courses are mainly insurance related, however, as the name suggests, we do offer courses, workshops/seminars in other business related areas such as, Supervisory Management, Customer Service and Leadership for Supervisors.
 
  Q. What are the requirements to attend the College?  
 

A. All persons entering the College, with the exception of holders of a First Degree or a Diploma from a Teacher's College, are required to sit an English Entrance Test.

There is an open admission to the Certificate in Insurance Studies.

Persons who fail the Proficiency Test must pursue the Business Communication course. Entry requirements to pursue the Jamaica Insurance Diploma are as follows:

List A (Academic)
Have passes in at least four subjects at the GCE Ordinary Level or CXC General Proficiency. The subjects comprise English Language, Mathematics (or a mathematical subject) and two other distinct subjects chosen from the following:

History Geography Foreign Language
Natural Science Economics Computer Studies
Public and Economic Affairs Surveying English Literature
Commerce Elements or Principles of Accounts

Persons without GCE/CXC Mathematics or a mathematical subject must pass the Business Mathematics course offered by the College. Mathematical subjects include:

Pure Mathematics Elementary Mathematics Applied Mathematics
Commercial Mathematics Additional Mathematics Statistics
Physics Chemistry Integrated Science
Navigation Engineering Science  

List B (Mature Candidates)
• Have reached the age of twenty-five years and are employed in insurance.
• Must pass the College's English Proficiency Test.
• Must pass English and Mathematics (or a Mathematical subject) at GCE/CXC or pursue    the Business Communication and Business Mathematics courses at the College.
 
  Q. Is the College registered with the University Council of Jamaica?  
 
A. The College renewed its registration status with the University Council of Jamaica effective January 1, 2003.
