Its Vision is to be the training Institution of choice for the insurance industry
The College of Insurance and Professional Studies, formerly known as the Insurance College of Jamaica (ICOJ), started operations in April 1980 as a private tertiary institution and is registered by the University Council of Jamaica.
The College was registered as a non-profit educational institution limited by guarantee under the Companies Act of Jamaica on November 11, 1981 and is now the official educational arm of the Insurance Institute of Jamaica.
Established to provide training for the General Insurance Industry, the College has expanded its scope and mission to offer similar services to the wider business community – hence the change of name to the College of Insurance and Professional Studies (CIPS).
CIPS is the premier educational institution servicing the insurance industry and has constantly reviewed its operations, not only to adequately satisfy the needs of its primary market, but also offering its service to the wider community.
he College is supported through income from courses and seminars conducted. This is supplemented by an annual organizational membership fee structure determined by the Board of Directors.
